gift-wrapped vegan fudge

OK, so it has taken Sweet Bean 30 years. The craft-mindedness of my early years is coming back in waves, and inspiring me to create goodie-wrapped greatness: this vegan fudge using cacao nips instead of nuts.

I wrapped two individual pieces up palm-sized holiday gift bags tied with curled ribbons that were given out as party favors for hubby’s firm holiday party. The recipe makes 48 pieces, two pieces per gift bag.

Thanks to for the tip on using cocoa nips as a garnish!

Gift-wrapped vegan fudge

 2 cups melted coconut oil

2 cups maple syrup or powdered sugar

2 cups cocoa powder

1 tsp vanilla

Cacao nips

24 small holiday gift bags

Ribbon with colors of your choice (I used pink and green)

Blend all ingredients except the cacao nips in the Cuisinart until smooth. Pour onto two medium or one large baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle generous amounts of cacao nips on top. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Cut into 1 ½ inch squares.

Place in gift bags and wrap with ribbons.
